NHS Discounted Software
Your NHS dental practice's entitlement, are you benefiting?
The NHS licensing agreement with Microsoft allows practices with an NHS component to obtain certain Microsoft software at a much reduced cost. Some client software, such as Windows XP professional, Office 2003 and Office 2007 is completely free. Many client licences for server software are also free, which can especially benefit larger practices, that otherwise would have to buy additional client licences (normally purchased in packs of 5).

How does this work? Is there any catch?
There is no catch! As long as the practice can state that it is serving NHS patients, and that they comply with Section 26 of the 1984 Dentists' Act, they are entitled to the software. The order is made directly to the company that handles the NHS agreement. Net Therapy will advise you which software to order, then the order is made directly to them, and you will be invoiced by them, not by Net Therapy.
Other software
Other software companies also offer discounts for NHS customers, including McAfee and Symantec. It is possible to purchase your anti-virus and backup software at a discount as well, though this is not necessarily the software that we recommend in all circumstances. We can advise you on this.
